Myspark plugs at 45,00km

Theres no way your sparkplugs are going to last for 60,00km as per mazdas recommendation in the service manual .

Heres a photo of my 2 Leading plugs at 45,000km they are truly gone

THE TRAILING PLUGS ARE ALSO ROOTED BUT NOT AS BADLY

I have been using only shell optimax and BP ultimate

The large deposits on top and inside the plugs a grey and pink in colour

When you say they don't last, you mean, undriveable?

I'm sure there's someone hitting 60K's with the 1st set of factory plugs?

Perhaps they need to be cleaned by using abit of petrol and rubbing the black stuff off?

My plugs were still driveable but my fuel comsumption and running smoothness was no where as good as with the new upgraded plugs .

Most cars can run as to whether they are running at optimun thats the big question . :D

After seeing all your aftermarket parts and figuring you are swiming in money they decided to let you buy your own :D

But seriously you should try and hit them for the New Battery starter and sparkplug deal .

wow... its amazing what you'd learn each day....
i think i will pull my plugs out and check at the next service
was that the contributing factor to your freeway incident the other day, or is it a totally different topic :o

we did a full respray of a 10sec pac performance preped rx4 sedan not too long ago....... on the final day it refused to start, and we found out that was the spark plugs.... so the owner and i pulled the plugs out, it was fouled to the **** house, used thinners and sand paper to "clean" it, and get the excess fuel out of the block. after a couple of times, it started....... took it back to pac for a new set of plugs and a quick re-tune :D

Typical rotary, your engine is flooded & your plugs are now "fouled"

"They" are not letting it warm up completely before switching it back off again. Nor would they give it a few revs once its warmed up to clear out any gunk. Try thinking of that & you will find it wont happen as easily.

A word of wisdom there is...

I have attached this link to Mrs Taka's email and she will not yell at me ever again for reving down the freeway ramp.

She did not accept my explanation of carbon build up stated above :rolleye:
