Stock Wideband O2 Sensor - Can it detect the full range of AFR?

There seems to be some disagreement over whether or not the stock wideband can sense below 12? AFR, and I did a seach but didn't see any real discussion of this.

I have monitored the stock sensor with my canscan and seen it go below 12, as did many others who tuned their CZ units with the canscan. Someone had mentioned that there was a software issue with the canscan that caused false readings?

Anyways, I just wanted to clear this up, from what I can tell with using an external wideband, it matches closely with the stock sensor and does go below 12 up high in the rev range at WOT.

im not sure. My friend has one of the cheapest stand alone widebands for his MS Protege and his will read from 9.99-19.99....

is there a way to get a stand alone system to read the AF?
