Kuhmo Tires

I just replaced my OEM Brigstone tires with the new Kumho ECSTA SPT tires. They are great.
The Brigstones got so loud tat even though i could have gotten another 3-4,000 milesout of them, I couldn't stand the noise. They were terible.

The new Kohmos handle great, are good in wet and dry andare very quite ars well. At $105.00 a piece fro Tire Rack, they are a real bargain as well.

I would have bought them regardless of price due to my past experience with Kohmos on a couple of my Maiatas. They were the bast tires i had ever put on a Miata in 15 years of Miatas.

i recommend them highly.

I too am looking. They look like a good value. I have 22k on my OEM and the noise is bad at times. I did one more rotation and might get another 10k on them. I am looking at the Bridgestone RE750, anyone got info on these?? I do mostly hwy driving.

Boowana...

Did you go with the 245/40's or 225/45?

I've been looking at these also since they are in the same size and are 3lbs/tire lighter. We have the MX's on our Boxster and run Victoracers on it also, so we're big fans of Kuhmo tires.

Steering response? Dry grip?

After you get a few miles on them I'd like to hear a few more details on how they perform relative to the OEM's

I'm also running the MX. Just like the 040, they don't like cold weather. But unlike the 040, they like heat. Did I say like? I mean they LOVE heat. I think they would make a great dry track day tire.

Well, I just bought some Kumho ASX's. (245/40-18) Haven't put them on yet, but I run them on another one of my cars and I like them alot. Overall they are pretty good year-round tires with very nice performance IMO. Initially, I know I will love them. The 040's started to make me think I was driving a tank with all the noise... not to mention the sidewall blowout on the inside of one of my rears. I should post the pics I took and sent to Bridgestone/Firestone. In a nutshell I like Kumho tires and I have run several of their tires on different cars I own.

I replaced all of my tires a few months ago but due to recent stem valve issues, I had to replace two again this week. These two new tires are Kuhmo and although they're not all around, I can already feel the difference in the drive. They're nice and sticky and I don't feel all over the road anymore. Lol, now I need to replace the other two!!

How is the noise and road comfort on the SPTs? I am very close to pulling the trigger on these and wondering how they would handle the sorry excuse for freeways we have around here..

Just had these installed. Very quiet and they look good.. One disconcerting thing was that stability control came on during my first turn out of the tire shop. I'm hoping this is just a result of the tires needing to be broken in and not a sign of things to come. The test results seem to imply that it has grip similar to the ES100s..

mold release compound. takes a couple a hundred miles to wear it off. it is much more scary on a motorcycle.
