I did my first oil change on the 8. A great sense of pride it was.
There is a Fram sure drain installed. It is a little slow so I jacked up the drivers side of the car to facilitate a quicker drain flow.
Although kinda akward the oil filter came off easy. (dealer did the next to impossible "first" filter removal)
Now here is the strange thing, I added 4 US qts if Amsoil AND half a litre of castrol gtx.
The oil level is still half way between add and full.
Has anyone had the same experience?
I am thinking either Amsoil sold me oil that said "1 US qt" but didnt contain 1 US qt.
The only other explaination I can come up with is that by jacking the drivers side of the car somehow drained some of the oil out of the oil coolers.
Does that makes sense?
Does any of this make sense?

 

i don't ever go by what they say the car takes. i just keep filling until the level is where i'm comfortable at. i usually put in 5 qts.
