Saw a nice silver in kenosha in the lake park industrial park in pleasant prairie, would have flashed my lights but I wasn't in the 8 today.

 

i drive throught there all the time. i may have seen the same one there aswell. they always turn left (southbound) onto the street where the stop sign is on 165.

i just got a black rx-8 last month. i live very close to there aswell. maybe ill see you around sometime

 

I've seen a black a couple of times comming down 31 from the north. If I'm in my 8 around there you'll know it's me since it's a shinka.

do any local members ever set up any meets or anything?

 

Don't know of any local meets. There is a local tuners club that does some stuff but they don't have any rotaries and are all pretty much ricer cars. www.conceptr.com

There also is a group that has mostly older hot rods that does the car show in the park over by regency mall.

For me anyway neither group is a good fit. I don't really want to hang around a bunch of tuners or a bunch of hot rods heads.

I did join the RX club of Wisconsin this week http://www.rxclubofwi.org/ they have a few get togeathers over the summer and some drives and stuff. So we'll see how that goes this summer. I'm hoping to find someone who has the RB or mazda speed suspension who can give me a ride so I can get a feel for that since it's probably the first thing I want to change.

What I really want to do is this: http://www.openroadracing.com/ but probably not this year. Maybe I'll go watch or volonteer next year after the suspension upgrade. A lot of the cars there will completely outclass an 8 no matter what you do to it.

 

dude, conceptR is so lame. they have one guy who owns a mazdaspeed protege that came to one of the protege meets and he was a total dick. he acted like his car was the greatest car ever and expected us to act as if we had never seen an msp.

im still very active within the protege community around here. it really isnt only proteges, any mazda is welcome. some of the guys dont even have mazdas. we have meets, talk about cars a little bit, but mostly we just have a good time. we dont get all drunk and wasted at the meets, in fact, i dont recall beer at any of the meets. it really is a great time. if you ever want to come, just let me know and i will keep you posted on where and when our meets are.

we have our road rally to minnesota coming up in 2 weeks
