FWIW, we will be taking the car to two HPDE in the next couple of weeks, one at Pikes Peak Internation Raceway south of Colorado Springs ( see eg. www.quickchickracing.com ) and a Rocky Mountain Audi Club event at 2nd Creek Raceway just outside of Denver by DIA, on May 13 - 15. Hopefully some other Rx8 folks will chose to come

I sure would like to find a solution to not being able to run on the track with anything less than at least a half tank of gas!

 

For auto-x, I've done a run when the 'light just came on' without any starvation issues... on a 1 mile course. Funny thing is, when the run was done, the light was off.
