Crappy service
Crappy service
So I take in my 8 to get serviced a couple weeks back. I open the hood for the first time since then to fill up my winshield washer fluid and notice that the engine cover is missing. So I call up probert mazda here in London and talk to the dipshit who runs the service department and he tells me that there is 0 chance that they forgot to put it back on and that someone probably stole it....... great story, except that my car always returns to my garage each night and I havent opened the hood since the service. Needless to say im pretty pissed.
Which is why I remove mine (carbon fiber) before I go to the dealer. Most have signs posted that they are not responsible for lost / stolen items. Your only option is to yell at the general manager in front of other customers.

- First, those disclaimers don't hold up in court. Legally, they are responsible for your car while it is in their custody.
- Second, the engine cover is part of the vehicle, NOT the same as CDs in the glove box or a snow brush in the trunk (ie personal property unrelated to the car). The engine cover is their responsibility just as much as the oil filler cap, radiator cap, brake fluid reservoir cap, air filter, lug nuts, etc. are their responsibility when they're servicing your vehicle.

Gordon

so is the gospel according to Gord....amen
Damn Right.
Unfortunatly I've had bad expereinces in the past (no worries, not at Avante, they rock)...so I always look under the hood and check the car out before leaving the dealership--it's a habit now with me.

I say wait until they are really busy, and then test out your vocal chords, like I have done at Erin Mills Mazda
I go to Ontario Mazda now right by my work. Better service, and its not like talking to incompetent idiots who try and B/S to you to try and get away with stuff or just to hide their stupidity. It's always great just to say complete opposite of them with a straight angry face, then watch them change their story around because they have no clue what they are talking about. And i'm suppose to trust my car with them. Always a pleasure watching people's reactions and how they just turn around and drive off.
Good luck with you cover Canadian 8
i'd definatly go talk to them, Ive been to probart with only twice with my P5......they suck, everytime ive gone ive "needed brake service" even if i had it done 8000km before.....Plus at 100K my EGR valve was plugged, they diagnosed the problem and cleaned it for $200.....then a week later, its clogged, Stupid morons........all i have to say.

Needless to say the Manager had to fix that problem.
actually instead of clogging the toilet...which is a very good idea....i'd rather "upper deck it" for anyone who isnt 22....thats when you **** in the raised part of the toilet....it stays there forever....and starts to smell terrible
Ay Chihuahua! Although the last few post have satyed on topic with the 'title' of the post, it changed in content considerably.
It's hard to find good honest work out there. It only takes one bad apple to not have a good experience. Despite this, there must be someone at probert mazda who will take responsibilty for losing the cover and replace it.
Now for my caca story. I used to work in a grocery store; one of the clerks found that a customer had shat on the floor in one of the isles. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
