My new sub set up

Replacing the Infinity Basslink. I now have one JL 500/1 and a JL 10w6v2 in 4080's custom box on the passenger side. The box is top notch in quality and looks. If you can afford it, it's definitely the way to go. The bass is so high that it was blowing off the rotary shaped grill. 4080 is sending me a tighter grill next week. Great customer service. Well, here are some pics.

The JL sub that I used only comes in 4 ohms so it wasn't much of a decision for me.

What a nice set up! Forgive my ignorance, but what is 4080? The shop?

bass isn't directional...so it doesn't matter which way it faces

it's hits super hard with enough juice behind that sub. the box is about .75 cu ft and the sub calls for about that with 400 watts rms. it makes my hair vibrate.

they ain't cheap, but this one is well worth it. Even the guys at the local shop were really impressed with the build quality.

Whyis it then that my two 12s in their single enclosure soundmuch louder and shake every single thingin my car whenI have them face the trunk? The otherthree directions Ive placed them in before (pointing up - pointing down - and pointingat the cabin) make the bass sound much more tame

It's not so much about the direction that the speaker is pointing, but rather what the surroundings are. For example, in the rx8 trunk, you'll get more bass if the box is in the corner facing outward instead of facing the rear of the trunk. I had an infinity basslink in my trunk before and I tested all positions and locations in the trunk. It worked best for me with the sub facing up and up against the rear seats.
