San Jose Service Recommendation?

I know this has been asked before, but I thought I'd try again: what's the best service department in the San Jose area? I have an appointment with Oak Tree on Thursday. Any experience with their service department?

I'm pretty happy with Almaden Mazda. I've had M-flash and 3K oil change/service done by them. No problems so far. They followed-up both times to make sure I was satisfied with their service.

Ditto on almaden mazda. Went with them for a whole year, great service and pretty cool sales guys there too.

Oak Tree and Almedan switched service managers a few months back. Although my experience in the past with Oak Tree has been great. I have not had a lot of dealing with the current Oak Tree service manager.

We bought from Almaden. The floor mat peg wasn't installed. Also, they messed up the dash when installing the 6-cd changer.

As I understand it, Oak Tree and Almaden are owned by the same guy. Do you think it makes a difference that Oak Tree is a Mazda-only dealership? Mazda's new theory of customer service seems to be Mazda-only dealers are better (which sounds bogus to me -- good service is good service, it doesn't matter what you're selling). Maybe they won't mistake my RX-8 for a Kia at Oak Tree.

any where you go , just don't go to Menlo Mazda, they sucks for everything! dude, takes them 3 days to found out a little problem, took them 3 weeks to replace a engine, and took them another day to call me and said the car is done, the car wash sucks, the mechanic twist off my shift **** and think he can get it tighten, now my cable is broke and won't light up anymore, a small dent was found on my rear driver side door after i get back the car..........

After reading posts, I looked for the peg. It wasn't mounted. I found it in the glove box and installed it myself.

There is a plastic plug under the middle of the front seat. Pull the plug out. Put the bracket with the peg down and use the plug to hold it in place.

Be careful. The plug is a 2 piece cheap plastic job. The center of the plug pulls out and the rest of the plug will slide out with a little wiggling. If you force it, it will break.

If you aren't comfortable installing it, just have the dealer install it when you go in for service. It is supposed to be installed in the dealer prep. If it isn't there, you can complain to the service department.

I bought my 8 at Oak Tree Mazda and have had nothing but good to say about them. I had a recall that they handled and surprised me with a Hertz rental to cover my day of driving while they fixed the problem. Yeah, I know its not out of their pocket, but they were very quick to bring up the issue and have it covered. Unless they screw up, I'll keep going there.
