Best way to clean and condition leather seats

Hello All,

I would like poeples thoughts on the best product to use to clean and/or condition the leather seats in the RX8. At the moment I am using Macquires Leather Conditioner (which is a cleaner as well) purchased at Repco. Is there other products that others use? Please let me know.

Also how often should you clean the leather and/or conditioner it?

Kind Reagrds,

Wow you have a lot of question... I use the same product but I only use it to clean. I have AutoGlyn Leather cream (from Autobarn) to put on whenever i wax the exterior. so every 6 weeks

I have ben using Lexol products for years....very good. They have a pH balanced cleaner and a great conditioner........If you live in an equestrian area....go to a tack shop....way cheaper than automotive stores usually

Yep, Lexol is the way to go. It lasts a long time too.

I'm using that too. I think it's rubbish. it leave the leather looking patchy as it is verry hard to get an even coverage. I don't know if the rubbery bits like it ether.
I'm trying something else. any sugestions?

Leather Cleaner

Hi mate,
I asked a few people and they posted in the forum that there is a leather product you can get from an equestrian place or horse related business that is a leather conditioner that is cheaper and better to use. i might try that this week sometime.
the name of it is Lexol. Or if you can, go in there and ask what they would recommend. i guess that use that product to wax down their saddles.

Here's a post too.

There is also a product called AutoGlyn Leather cream (from Autobarn) which someone also mentioned.

this old guy i talk to before told me he used vasaleen on his seats. he would slap it on all over them and then let then car sit for a day in the heat.then wipe the leftover stuff off with warm water with a very small amount of soap in it. his seats in his truck were 13 years old and look like new still and the leather was soft and no cracks in it at all. i am thinking of trying it on my fd.

I've used Zymol leather cleaner and leather conditioner on my cars for a few years now and have been very pleased. Haven't tried it on my 8 yet but I just bought some more and it will be time to do it soon. I can't find it in Canada anymore but it's available at Target stores in the U.S.
