RX-8's take 5 spots in top ten at Watkins Glen ST class

Anyone see Watkins-Glenn on Speed Channel today.

I saw RX-8's take 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th in the ST class. The 5th spot was car number 70 driven by Haskell / Tremble. They took first last week at Phoenix last week.

The only problem with Speed Channel coverage, was it focused mainly on the faster GS class.

If any of racers above read this forum - congratulations.

Thanks for watching! I'm glad someone is. We are trying as hard as we can to get back in the winners circle at Mid-Ohio.

Good luck, curious on your feelings on how the RX-8 holds up in competition. Pros? Cons?

Dunno about you, but from the fact that they have placed quite nicely with brand new cars, I think it competes very well! :D

But here's hoping for some good races for you guys!

Lexus IS300, BMW 330, Acura RSX Type-S, Dodge Neon SRT-4,BMW Z-4, Mini Cooper S
The RX-8's handle very on track and we have the best brakes of everyone. We are currently trying to find just a touch more horsepower- the BMW's and Lexus may have the upper hand in that deparment right now.
Mid-Ohio is a bit more handling than horsepower, so we should do weel their.

Dear David:

Currently what engine management do you use?

We are planning to race an RX8 here in Puerto Rico, and need some good advice from the pros.

Thanks,

Everett

We use a MoTec M800 for engine management. Works perfect. No problems.

Dave,

Did you completely remove the factory ECU and replace it with the M800?

Hi Dave,

So does the original dash etc. work in the cars? is most of the standard loom removed and replaced with the M800 loom (for the engine etc.).?

What sort of power are you making out of the engine now with a tune?, I'm assuming it is a modified exhaust?

Be interested to know - thanks.
