Fuzion Tires - Anyone????

Just got back from the Firestone dealer and he recommended FUZION ZR1 tires for my Titanium RX8.

They are resonably priced but 2 weeks to get.

Anyone had any experience with these??

Thanks

Why do you need new tires so soon? Or are you on the road all the time? I need new ones 'cause mine are so freakin' noisy i can't hear the radio. Mazda Can. says it's bridgestone's problem and bridgestone's rep cannot be found !!

Red face

I drive around 200miles a day to home and work. Picked up car in October 2003 and currently have 32000 miles on it. Starting to get noisy, balancing won't help. Need new mittens.

Thinking about:

Toyo FZ4

Cooper Zeon 2XS

Fuzion ZR1

Fuzion, IIRC, is made by Bridgestone. look at tirerack.com, I think they have info on them. I believe they have suitable sizes for our 8s. Should be a very reasonable price/performance tire.

If the original tires went 32K, that's good news, though.

LambertRX8,
Was that mostly highway miles, easy on the tires?

I drive about 200miles per day to and from work, all highway average speed 75-80mph. Time flew so fast I never got the tires rotated so rears are a little more worn than the fronts. The fronts however have some cupping due to mis-alignment I am told. But dealer won't fix. Oh well.

I am going to get Fuzion ZRi tires this weekend, 245/40/18. 148.59 ea. Seems pretty reasonable.

Would like to drive faster but cowardess gets the better of me. I don't need the extra expense of police donations.

ok today i went to my local tire install guy cuz i caught a nail (turned out to be a 4.5" bolt. yea unbelievable, i kept it as a suvenier) so i finally decided to get a new set a tires since that tire is gone and the snow season is here.
I read about the Pirellis Pzero Nero M+S and everyone that has them love em. So I went to him and asked about how to get the set, he said he could but he thought the Bridgestone Fuzion where better cuz he installs a lot of them and everyone who was them loves em and blablabla.

so question is anyone has any thoughts about this tire? Theres too little info about them online and almost none here in the forums.
Only site i found that sells them are these guys here couldnt find them in tirerack.com
thank for the help

TireRack carries Fuzion ZRi Ultra High Performance Summer tires and just did a comparison test with them: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/fuzion_zri.jsp

They seem pretty promising according to their test. I noticed they did not have them in our stock 225/45R18 size though.

so they are not all-season tires it seams? do you know if they exist?

the guy said he could get me fuzion all-season tires 245/40/18 for abount $160 installed, but then again i had never seen nor known the guy before this incident.

im thinking of just going with the pzero nero m+s

I picked mine up today

I just picked some Fuzion tire up, 245/40 18. I'll be putting them on some time this week. trying to have them on in time to go out to the local Fairfax meet on Friday. I'll let you know how they are. I'm sure they have to be better then stock. I hated the stock tires the moment I drove them off the lot after getting my car.

Are you planning on driving on these in freezing weather or snow?

I have had these tires in a 245 width for about 1500 miles. I find they are better in the wet and nasty conditions (went through some snow/ice and these were better than the OE). Dry is comparable, but I think the RE040s had a touch more grip.

They are pretty quiet compared to the bald RE040s I took off. I like them so far, but there are alot of miles to go to decide whether I will use them.

I read on TireRack that they run narrow. They do, the 245 sidewalls toe in a bit. I can give picks if interested; I currently have two wheels off, two on.
