That is a BEAST of an engine... what HP is that putting out extrapolated from that 1/4 mile time?

 

A 190+ trap speed would indicate a HP rating of 1200 to 1400.

That is a lot, BTW.

There's an Q&A article in May's Modified Magazine about the world's fastest RX-7. It's Jose Torres' Siguel Racing and his time was 6.89 @ 197.26 in Salinas International Speedway in Puerto Rico.

They mention Abel Ibarra and Pepe Loco in the article. Have anyone seen it?

So what's better, lower et or higher trap speed?

but as it stans now i think abel is the world's fastest rotary.

Higher trap speed = more horsepower/higher rev range
Higher ET = better traction/higher torque

at those speeds aerodynamics also play a big role

i like how its the K&N RX8, but not only is it not an rx8 motor, but there also isnt a K&N filter on it. lol, i know i know thats how the pro-drag racing is...just like all the twinturbo v6 RWD civics and rsx's lol

Abel did a 6.76 /204.3 mph back in April at Las Vegas, you can see the information on NHRA sport compact series web page. So now is the turn for Major League (Siguel) to break this record, unless somebody knows something different. I would love to see Major League against Ibarra's K & N. At the end of the year who would be the king of the hill on the RX8 division? Ibarra? Major League(Siguel)? Rafaelito?

 

The last thing I read is that K & N is not sponsoring Abel Ibarra no more and he is not racing.
