Hi from California
Hi all, new-ish to the group. I own a 2004 rx-8. Haven’t had any issues except dtc code for ssv solenoid. But it runs like a champ and I love driving it! Just wanted to introduce myself, my names Kim from California and just looking to learn more about these amazing cars!
Hey Kim, welcome to the club!
congrats on the '04 and happy to hear it's running like a champ.
There's a great Rotary scene in CA so you're in good company.
how long have you had the car?

Yes from Santa Cruz, I’ve owned my 8 for almost 4 years now. I absolutely love it but I’m finding myself in a situation of trying to figure out if selling it is really what I want to do for financial reasons but I know I’ll regret it forever if I do! Thanks for the welcome everyone
Adding a welcome post as well!! I have found that I have sold cars for various reasons over the years that I have absolutely loved and have come to regret selling many of them. What I do now before I sell a car is to store it and pretend I dont have it. I understand this may not be reasonable for everyone, especially if its your only car. But I put it away for a month and forget about it and live without it. Seeing other cars on the road or in posts, pictures or in group/social media posts like the car I'm considering selling helps me decide how much I love the car and if I really should sell it. I realize its a stretch, but its what I do when I'm just not sure what I want to do. More often than not, I keep the car. I know what's been done to it and typically know the car inside and out. If I were to replace it, I would be starting over in thay regard and it may be in worse condition or not drive as nicely as my car.
I sold my first RX-8 that I bought from the dealer to put a down payment on my house. Three years later I decided that I wanted another just like it. I found one thay was very close and bought it. I still have it. 5 years ago, I went on a search for my very first RX-8 and found that it had been driven to 174k miles and was involved in a front end crash in Wisconson that ultimately resulted in the car being on fire. That car is unfortunately gone forever. When we sell out beloved car, we run the risk of someone or something else destroying it. Of course it could happen to us, but I would feel better if it happened in my care rather than in a stranger's. Just a long rant on what I've felt over the years selling my cars.
