Redline MT-90 & MTL Mocktail for Tranny

Hi everyone, when I owned my 1997 AWD Eclipse I was part of the DSM forums. One popular remedy to the fragile synchros was to mix MT-90 with MTL or MT-90 with BG Synchroshift. Usually it would be 2 bottles of MT90 with 1/2 of quart/1 quart (depending on fluid capacity of tranny FWD vs AWD) of the other to create a smooth shifting tranny while proving proper lubrication. My question is - has anyone tried this with the Rx8 transmission being that the series 1 series synchros tend to be weak?

Mixing Redline MT-90 with MTL can be effective for improving shifting in transmissions with weak synchros, like those in older DSM models. For the RX-8, you can try a similar blend. I had a tight budget and needed an essay quickly.

I have read in the forums that the new thing to run is MT-LV - seems a bit too thin for me here in Cali - anyone try this setup? Currently experiencing synchro grind when I shift in high rpm's on 3rd.

I use it in two transmissions in Arizona and it is great. If you race, that is another story, but for the street there is nothing better. 100k on and S1 and 70K on an S2 in Arizona with same great results. The s1 trans has almost 285k miles on it.

Thanks Kevin, with you being in Arizona - I can imagine me being in Cali won't be an issue with the oil being thinner. I will give it a shot to see if it remedies the synchro grind for me.
