I am finishing a "face lift" on my audio and am looking at my 12-year-old HU and trying to figure out why not go for a mini PC instead.

I work in IT, and have built many rigs. I have planned everything out everything that I will need (as much as one can do in a custom one off install) except 1 final thing.

I fully intend to do my own research as all results must be verified, but am open to suggestions.

The last piece of the puzzle. What CAN BUS data (or any data) flows through the HU and why. I don't care about steering wheel controls for media. I cannot lose cruise control, 'tis a medical necessity.
