Hello Guys and Girls,
I'm CarbonRX a retired motor mechanic. only working on car now in my spare time as a hobby.


After i stopped work, I didn't work on a car until 10 yrs later. I purchased a geo metro 5 door hatch. then i got a 3 door version, after that i obtained a Suzuki swift gti as a parts car.
This went on for 9 yrs. Then in 2019, I attended a car show and saw my first RX8 in person, and at that point i started saving to get one.
Sep 2020, luck was on my side and the car i have today went on sale, and the rest is history.




After the sale and the car arrived at home, It sat outside for a month while parts arrived from all over the world.
One weekend in October, a old Mazda FB RX7 owner, close friend, dropped over for the weekend and insisted that the engine swap had to start.
It was a friday night after dinner, it was time to start, the bonnet was removed and hung on the wall. Then after that it was beer O'clock.
Early Saturday morning I started the real work of removing parts from the engine bay, Later that afternoon everything was ready to hookup the engine hoist
and get the broken engine out.

This is how it come out of the engine bay in one complete unit. It sat in this spot until the day i sold it as is (needed a overhaul).
At this point the engine buy was cleaned and gotten ready for the Series 2 rx8 6 port engine, new clutch fitted, gearbox input shaft lubed........
and 10mins later the engine was it place and the engine hoist was removed and put away. It was all bolted down in place and new rad was installed.
This was the start of a on going project to make a nice daily driver. You can follow along with the updates in this forum.
