Really should've done it years ago since I bought replacements already then, but finally got around to it with the new coils too. Pretty sure I didn't install these, does oem use ngks or were these installed sometime after?

Don't recall the ones that were pulled outta the 7 being that crusty.

 

OEM is NGK yes.

If you don't remember the last time they were changed don't expect them to look great 😂 but yah old dirty plugs are common. Change them more regularly.

 

Yep I agree I see nothing really wrong with them.

 

Just wondering if this engine is premixed. If so what oil and how much. This is much worse than i ever see so you make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Maybe it is just the long runtime that makes the plugs go this way. Intetesting to read others say the plugs look ok. Good to know.

 

No premix, plugs were in a misfire engine also, did the coils when I first got it, should've done the plugs but they're less likely to be an issue and more of a pain to get to. Think total mileage on them was like 60k or so.

You changed the coils so should pull them in a few weeks and have a look

 

Do you have a better picture? I'm not suuuper seeing the electrode on #2 leading on second look. Could stand with a picture that shows each end clearly with good lighting.

 

Not terribly concerned given it's now a relatively new engine, new bhr coils, new wires, new plugs, but yea one of the trailing is pretty black.

I bet the first plug had the bad coil as it is not firing as pointed out by dannobre.
Follow dannobre's suggestion to pull the new plugs to confirm that you have fixed the problem.
I would start with the previously bad plug. Could be a plug wire.
You go thru the wheel well to access plugs right.
