This is for anybody who has ever installed any type of gaming console in to their car, any car any console. What do you do about a power source for the system? Do you give it it's own power source or run it off the fuse box? How do you do it? Thanks.

 

i believe you would plug into the middle compartment the one that slides up

 

You need to find a place to hide a d/c to a/c power converter. We use to use pro sound equalizers and crossovers in cars this way. the first dvd player I ever installed in a car was one of the first home units. It also had a playstation. This was before any dvd's were available for cars. It pretty easy to do. Converters can run anywhere from about $30 to several hundred depending on how robust of one you need. A game console doesn't need much.

 

Rotarygod thanks for the help but still confused how does the converter get its power, like what source?

 

the converter just plugs into a cig outlet.. and converts it to ac for your console..

however, some people just "hard wire" the converter right into the battery w/ a fuse link.. the possibilities are endless.. hehe

 

The larger converters like I used to use actually need to have power and ground wires run to them from the battery just like an amp does.
