Japanese Radio in American RX8

Just got my new radio deck to replace the broken one my RX8 came with. One problem. It appears the shipper sent me a japanese radio of the JDM RX8 and I'm going to put it in my American RX8. Will this work? I'm gonna try tonight but before I do want to see if I'm just wasting my time.

Here in NZ we have to fit something called a 'band expander' to get all the FM stations as JDM only goes up to 90.0 . They are pretty cheap and easy to fit though.

Update: I installed the new radio and it does work but there is a problem. There is no where on the Japanese unit for me to plug in AC controls! So basically, useless unless someone knows how to make it work.

Basically, there is a connector on my American unit that plugs in for the AC. Its located right behind the fan speed ****. There is no connector for it on the Japanese unit. Theres probably a way to get it to work but I cant figure it out. I'll have to send pictures but I have an extra connector and no where to plug it in.
