Any way to repair this? Some kind of fabric tape, glue or whatever?? A new one is mega $$$.

 

You should probably have an upholstery shop fix it as it may be too big of a project for you to handle. But if you are feeling feisty you could fix it using the drift stitches method.

Glue a patch on the underside? You've never fixed your clothes or drywall or any other flat thing? Same principle, you can by spray adhesive like what's used in dressing sub enclosures, but any glue would do it, just stay away from cyanoacrylate, not sure if it's compatible with the fabric.

 

This was my thought as well. 3M Super 90 could work for this. Get a piece of sturdy material (maybe time to retire that old pair of jorts), spray the underside of the liner and the new backing piece, let it sit until it doesn't stick to your finger when you touch it. Then, clamp the two firmly together.

 

I've done exactly this. Works great.

 

Sorry to be so late but I finally got my hands on a rx8 and will most likely be removing all of the interior if you'd be interested in the trunk liner we can work something out to have it shipped to you.
