New RX8 owner - long time Rotary owner

So I just purchased an 07 Velocity Red RX-8 (6MT of course) from a Toyota dealership here in central Alabama. The car seems to be in very good condition inside and out and has 78,000 miles on it. Feel like I got a good price on it - $9800 out the door, especially considering I got a LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY on it for no additional fee. (Found out the day after purchase that this car was not supposed to have that offer on it, but they accidentally advertised it and the salesman told me it would, so they had to honor it (the dealership had to pay an additional fee to the warranty company because of this). Only thing wrong with it was the TPMS blinks and the passenger airbag cover cracks are present.
Anyway the car feels good power wise and handles like a dream. Last night, however, I noticed a metallic clatter coming from the left front wheel at low speed. I suspected maybe a bearing was going bad so I jacked that side up to check for movement. When I did this I rotated the wheel freely and heard a noise like something was sliding INSIDE the tire. At this point I noticed that the valve stem was rubber...
I should have spotted it when I first looked the car over! Honestly I was worried about more important things though, like how beautiful the car is.
Now I gotta see if the dealership I bought the car from will fix it because they sold it to me messed up like this, or if I just need to eat the cost... How much do you guys think that cost would be? The other three wheels have proper metal stems.
Oh and I also own a 71 R100 and a 72 RX2.

Welcome to the site.

Since the TPMS light was flashing. I would think the noise you are hearing and therefor the problem, is the TPMS sensor on that wheel. The tire will have to be intirely broken down to replace it. The replacement piece, when I last got a new one, was $25.

Used cars are usually sold as-is, unless you have a special deal with the dealership. Ask them to fix it. They can only say no and you really haven't lost anything.

It's dandy and good until you see that tiny line at the bottom:

rotary engines not included

Also, this thread is 5 years old... Just saying.
