hey guys i just became a member of the rx8club I've had my rx8 for a year already only done a few upgrades on it nothing serious……..

main problem is that the other day as i was ready to leave work i turned on my car and it was low on gas but not enough to act the ay it was EXTREME LOSS OF POWER A DEEP/DIFFERENT SOUND OF EXAHUST like i was forcing the engine to run. so i turned it off went and pumped gas let it sit for about 10min and it went away drove it fine or a day or two….. yesterday as i was hopping on the freeway it did the same but as i was driving i had it on cruise control and the engine light came on and started flashing lowering the rpms so i had to pull it over and have it towed back to my house now it won't svn start…

any ideas hats holing on? help! lol

 

Search for what a flashing CEL means. It means only one thing so it'll be easy to find.

 

Flashing CEL = misfire .
Look into your Coils, plugs, wires. Replace them If you haven't already. They need replacement every 30k

Clean your MAF sensor, ESS Sensor,
Inspect your CAT, if it's clogged it will cause power loss

Also, read the new / potential owners thread it will teach you alot about your 8.

ok thanks guys i appreciate it i just got the spark plugs replaced like a month ago I'm going to chECK my coils and cables and go from there, also thanks on the heads up for the cat.

its a 2007 gt rx8 with 65xxx miles on it, for an aftermarket AEM COLD AIR INTAKE, NO MUFFLERS STRAIGHT PIPE FROM THE CATBACK,

 

ALSO what would be the BEST BRANDS for coils, and cables for my rx8?? any rec..??? possibly go aftermarket rather than stay stockkkkkk…………….

so does anyone have a recommendation for a good brand of coils other than durmast, bwd, master pro or import direct…???
and price ranges or does it not really matter what kind of coils i get or it.?? i definitely want something better it originally came with the NGK spark plugs and cables…...

Price and benefit wise, everyone seems to go towards bhr. I just got mine 4 weeks ago, couldnt be any happier.

But its your choice.. You can get the oem coils but the need to replaced every 30k where as bhr lasts much much longer..
