Everyone Pensacola, Navarre, Destin, to Panama City

What's up everyone, I wanted to start a thread where everyone is this area can go to for advice, help, meet ups, talk about your cars and mods, and BS. With that being said I'm junior I live in Navarre and drive a sunlight silver beauty, I'm currently deployed but would like to hang out with a few gear heads once I get back beers and BS...

Just returned to the area, combat wounded vet, retired life sucks so I could go for a few friends in the area also. I live out in pace which is just between Pensacola and Navarre. I have 05 BB 6 mt. Only a few mods but now that I am retired gonna be alot more. JIN13 if we can't find something to talk about our 8's then I am sure we can BS about deployed life. 54 total months between both **** holes lol.

I'm in Gulf Breeze and just picked up my 8 in Nov. It had a blown apex, so I am currently rebuilding it. I expect to have it completed in the next few weeks due to lack of funds. I do have a pretty busy schedule but I would like to see if there are any meets going on around here.

Side note: I saw the meet schedule and I could do the bayfront meet, but it will be a little while before I get it going. Look forward to seeing what others have done and showing off my skills as a builder! I will get some pics up as soon as a get'em.

I would be interested in joining, but I would be limited as far as participation goes due to my crazy schedule. It is nice to see someone in the 8 world taking an interest in charities. I will check out the FB page.

The page is slowly gaining interest only have 9 members on it but hey it's getting there slowly! Like I told one of the other guys on there I don't expect everyone to participate in every single event or show up every week I'm sure we all work full time jobs and have things to take care of outside of the car world. The regular meets would revolve around the members location so it wont always be in Pcola we will do our best to make it easier on everyone. However I do expect the group to try their best to be able to attend as many charity events they possibly can when the time comes.

Just ordered the o-ring, gaskets, sohn and bottle kit today. should be here on Thursday. Can't wait! I'll get some pics of the rebuild over the weekend and hopefully a first start video if I get enough work done.

Well, bad news. I got the engine built and put back in the car. At first, it hesitated on cranking, so I figured battery. I went ahead and attempted to push start it. Nothing but locked up rear wheels. So I hooked up the cables to my Durango with a 2 day old battery in it. It started turning, but still no fire. I figured I flooded it. I went ahead and did the deflood procedure with no luck. I finally decided to pull the plugs to check compression. Low and behold, metal shards on the plugs. I guess one of the apex seals got stuck and fell apart. The good news is that I still have another rotor if that one is toast but I am not sure about the housing. I have another housing that will need resurfacing to use it unless I can find one cheap. Anyone used a nearby machine shop for lopping the irons, or at least one that is reputable and willing to resurface the irons? I am going to get some new seals and I just don't want to run into this again. The o-rings are still good since it hasn't even fired yet so at least I don't have to worry about that. On top of that, no leaks so I know I did good there too. I just think the seals were on there last leg and I guess I didn't lube it enough. Any help would be great guys. Thanks in advance!

Update:
I got it back apart and the seals trashed one of the rotors and housings. Looks like it will be a little while before I can get the money to replace them. If anyone has some extras, let me know.

Awesome, I am trying to get some money together so I can replace the seals. I found a housing and rotor I can use, so at least that is done. Just gotta get the new apex seals now. Anyone got a preference? I was going to go with Atkins because they are steel, heat treated and claim to hold up better then stock.
