Radio problem
Hey guys,I just bought a 2004 Rx8,but I am having a battery drain problem.Upon inspection,I notice that radio will turn on by itself while the car is locked up and sitting in the driveway.I need some help as I dont know where to start. The Mazda electrical system is a little different from what I am used to working on.I have installed a new battery and cleaned the terminals and the charging system is putting out 14.0 vdc.I would be grateful for any help!!!

Stock radio?
If after market, maybe the person that installed it got the constant power wire (the one that keeps the time and station setting) mixed up with the acc wire?
ETA: I'm just speaking from past experiences with different vehicles... I know exactly ****-all about the wiring in these rigs... as of now anyway.

Is it your Nav?
Does your car have the onboard navigation? I had a similar problem a few years back and there was a module that had failed in the pop up screen section that was draining the battery. The dealership swapped it out (warranty) and I haven't had a problem. Thank goodness it was warranty as it was a very expensive module to replace. It was listed in my paperwork as FE01-66-DV0B and the listed price in 2010 was $3600. I hope that isn't it but may be worth looking into. They reported it as an internal short within the nav unit.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.

Sorry about that,a few more details are in order. The car is bone stock with the Bose system,so no navigation.However.I downloaded the manual from AllData last night and was looking at the schematics.I decided to pull the room fuse and that killed the power to the inside of the car.Could this be a radio problem or an ignition switch that is faulty. Thanks for the input!!
