I just purchased an 05 rx8 with a modified exhaust. The sound might have pleased the previous owner but, it is not my favorite. Is there a cheap way to silence the sound, or should I just purchase another cat back that sounds better to me?

 

Does your car happen to have a check engine light and/or smell very strongly of gas like an old lawnmower?

 

no it looks and drives new, but has an annoying exhaust tune. If I turn up the radio its not too bad but I would rather have the oem cat back than what is on it now. However that will set me back 900 and my wife would not be pleased.

 

I have a stock system I would be willing to get rid of. Take pics of your exhaust so we can see what it is?

 

I also have an oem setup that is be willing to trade

 

actually he just removed the muffler... I didn't look as close as I thought But I might be interested in the purchase of a stock muffler.

 

that sucks. I remember my buddy's sounded horrible with only the mufflers removed. I feel your pain.

 

A silencer should help with the loud noise...
