Rx8 Limp mode?

So after my engine swap, I put the injectors in the correct order and it started right up. Idle sounded great the car sounded great. I took it for a test drive down the road and it gave out at around 4-5k rpm in 1st, 3k in 2nd and 3k in 3rd gears. I checked the coils, sparkplugs, MAF, checked for boost leaks, exhaust leaks.

Any idea what it could be guys? Im trying to get this car finished up tomorrow.

Also the code P00037
and P00336 showed up and the 0336 is the e-shaft senor, im not sure what that is?

What kind of swap did you do? Eccentric shaft position sensor is to the right of the main pulley looks kinda like a steel inhaler. Since its telling you rpm its working(ish) try cleaning it with a rag then resetting it (stomp on brake w/ car in on position not running though). 0037 is rear ho2s heater control circuit low. Check wiring. Both might just be bad. Good luck

Alright guys, ive pretty much tweeked out every problem but. Now my car's traction control light is on. NOT the actual traction control, just the car with the swiffles. It will NOT let me go above a certain rpm, and it wont go out if i recalibrate the wheel (turn it left and right) or if i press the break pedal 20 times to reset the ecu. It comes right back on. Any ideas?

Have you read the ecu codes again. You could still have a problem with the ESS. Or, you could have a wheel sensor that is disconnected or bad.

You could check the connection @ the abs module. Make sure its clean, tight, bla bla, etc..

There are two you should check. A smaller one in the back of the abs system

Also do what alnielsen mentioned. Check the speed sensors at the wheels.

Most likely your issue is not mine. Many things can cause a Rx8 to go into limp mode. My case (i think because it fixed it) was my OMP. I swapped the OLD OMP onto the NEW engine and it would run. Also my new engine had a different intake manifold (plastic part only). I missed a hose withot a clamp and it fell off. Which led to a HUGE leak. Also I have a turbo so I have other scenerios to look at.

I don't know any causes, for my car I havent ran into any problems besides a blown engine. I would get it scanned at a shop which is knowledgeable about rotary engines. If you want to fix it yourself. Get a scanner, if its only sometimes, capture a data log of the car somehow (I know accessport does it) and see whats going on. I dont think that is the best option though unless you know what your doing.
