First 8, second rotary

Well, I didn't think it would happen but I am the new owner of an 04 rx8 auto. (It just kinda popped up) After 3 weeks of this stupid used car dealership jerking me around, I finally drove home with it. (if I hadn't NEEDED a car so bad I would have told them to shove it) Drove home the first day and I noticed a blinking cel after a hard acceleration. Well that's neet. The next day the cel was solid so I had the codes pulled by (shutter) auto zone. Rear rotor missfire x2. Ok give me plugs. Went across the street to advance for coils. Now the missfire has gone away. A few days later on a trip to Erie I decided to bend the speed limit to see what it could do. Well I hit 85 and I started hearing a plastic scraping noise from the driver side wheel well. Some lazy buttmunch left 4 bolts and probably 20 body clips off of the bumper -.- so I'm in need of the drivers lower inner fender and the hardware is to hold it. Thanks for the surprise lybrook. That was the guys name on the title. If you're out there, I disapprove of your repairs. :p

Welcome,

Bummer on the fender. There are those on this forum that have lost the entire thing, then run over it, and ripped the rest out. Glad you heard it in time.

For an 04, I would suggest reading through the mods in my $100 thread below. It is based on what I learned in the first year with mine.

And, again, welcome.

Thanks for the welcoming. I actually read through your thread before I bought the car. I'll go through again now that I have the car and see if I missed anything. I did a bit of research before getting the 8. I didn't do any before buying my RX-7. Live and learn I guess. I'm happy to be rid of my last car and into something fun to drive.
