I was wondering if any of you guys have done business with Lone Star Performance before? Im getting a wet nos system with lots of safety features installed in my RX8 in May from them. Just wanted to hear the good, bad, and ugly just in case.

I was quoted at around $1750.
Brand: NOS (not set in stone)
My shop I normally go to in Garland called Rotary Performance didnt want to do it cause of possible damage to the engine. Which is perfectly understandable.
From Rotary Performance on the 18th Im getting a racing beat intake installed, and I plan to get the racing beat catback exhaust and a 5 speed transmission installed in March and April. (Gotta space it out Vallentines day killed me)
Well tapping the fuel line should be done using the Aeromotive fuel line adapter and anything above a 55 shot is not really smart. But then again having a N20 kit installed without really know much about it is not really smart either.

I had read about not doing anything above a 55 shot and only to use it at above 5000 rpms. My wifes dad is going to give me the run down on use of the nos system once its installed. At most I'd utilize the system once a year. I just think its interesting and worth having.

I had a N20 kit in my RX-8 prior to going turbo, and it is fine. But you need a kit that will work so hopefully they will put a good solution together that work well and is reliable. A fuel leak due to a hacked fuel line is not something you want a hot rotary in Texas. Also how will the fuel and N20 be injected?

Well, Bryce, I differ in my opinion than the representative with whom you spoke and here is why;
1) You are in TX and it is warm enough, at least heading into spring/summer so you will not need a tank heater right away.
2) The tanks already have a "blow-off" valve but I think he was referring to a "blow-down" tube, which is also not needed but suggested (unless you will be visiting the dragstrip.
3) Window switches are also not needed unless you are not going to be paying attention while using your nitrous, in which case you should not be using nitrous anyway.
4) Cut-off switches are also not necessary and for the same reason as #3, as long as you have verified proper fuel pump operation and pressures. If your car is around 80K miles, you may want to swap in a new OEM fuel pump assembly as it is good to have a fresh pump and fresh filter. The OEM pumps are fine with the additional 50-60 h.p. of fuel flow.
5) You will also not need an automatic nitrous line purge system as you can simply close the nitrous tank and activate the nitrous system for 5-6 seconds and the nitrous pressure will bleed off properly.
With all of this taken into consideration, here is what I suggest for a parts list;
1) Zex 82021-series system. Easy to install.
2) Zex Remote Opener System. Helps with spontaneous nitrous uses and with system purging when you are done.
3) Any brand blow-down tube as it help safety in the event the tank pressure valve bursts and it looks more professional.
4) BHR Throttle Body Spacer. Eases installation, is reversible if you ever want to remove the nitrous kit, and looks cool.
5) Aeromotive 15020 and 15626 fitting and plug. This eases the fuel feed installation and is also reversible.
That will get you started and, later, you can worry about a tank heater and whatever else. Everything I have suggested is based on what I have done on my own car and what I have helped dozens and dozens of people do.

Im probably going to get a better fuel pump installed just in case. I was thinking though. Would you guys think it might be a good idea to put a performance radiator in first. Just to make sure I'm getting adequate cooling?

I want to make sure everything is in tip top shape before I do the nitrous install.
Im interested in the BHR spacer and fuel line adapter as well. For a wet nitrous install do I need both?

Edit: Is a bottle heater ever required in the trunk of an RX-8? It's stays pretty nice and toasty, for the most part.
