can pillar garnish be removed and reseated?
I got the Japanese piano black pillar garnish from Maurice last week - it's way overpriced for a couple of pieces of sticky-backed plastic (not Maurice's fault, of course), but looks very cool on the car - and did an almost perfect install. The driver's side pillar looks terrific. Then I screwed up a little on the passenger side - it's very minor, but at the bottom the garnish is maybe 1/16th inch off of being absolutely straight. No one would notice this except me, and I have to look very closely to see it, but it's bugging me. Can this stuff be peeled and reseated, or am I better off just leaving it the way it is? The adhesive backing is silver, if that's any help. The instructions are entirely in Japanese, so any helpful information they might contain is denied me.
Some advice for other installers: an earlier poster is right in saying that it's essentially clean pillar with alcohol, peel, and stick - but one thing I gleaned from the pictures in the instructions was that you can tape the garnish in place with scotch tape, and then stick the top. The technique worked perfectly on the first one, but something just went slightly askew on the second. Just be very, very careful.

It may come out worst.
and I'm sure it would be a mess

If anyone's actually done this and lived, please let me know.
I was able to pull the pillar back off with a hair dryer. Just make sure you use gloves so you don't dirty the adhesive glue. I had no problems realligning the pillar and it didn't get messed up

When my body shop guy put mine on, he pretty much said that these things were going to stay exactly where they were placed. But, I know it is possible to use 'hair-dryer-technology" to adjust decals and such. As RX8MD said, it probably is a good idea to use gloves.
Good luck!
Good luck!
If I can just shift the garnish to the right a fraction, I won't have to peel it off completely. I'll try to do that with a hairdryer. Thanks for indulging my anality, y'all.
