Safety and More...

I have been curious about this for a while. What is the benefit of having a carbon fiber hood? and also, is there a way to increase the safety in the RX-8, I don't mean like an alarm system, I mean like a roll cage but one you can't see. Like one that is in the body of the car itself.

If anyone knows the answer, please help me out anyway you can.

Thanks,
The Doctor

Reducing weight on high points of the car, like the hood, roof, rear spoiler, etc.. lowers the car's center of gravity, making it handle better. Just look at the new Best MOTORing DVD. (Rotary Reborn) In the Touge shootout, an S2000 with apparently ricey CF pieces outran and WAY outhandled a similarly equipped S2000, but without the CF pieces. (Don't buy it for the RX-8 footage like I did. It gets whipped by a Skyline, 350Z, S2000 and WRX. )

Plus it looks cool.:D
