Good news for Mazda fans - look at the reduction in development cycle time from their first stage of this effort. The second stage should yeild even better gains.
I work in the MCAD industry - 3D computer aided design - and also have a background on the simulation/FEA side of things. Ah, what fun it would be to work on this project for Mazda - a virtual playground, if you will.
