If that is the article I think it is it was a hoax.

Yeah, thats a neat trick. Get all that extra HP, AND drop about 500 pounds? Whatever it is, make it for an 8.

 

I think this is the same hoax that someone on s2ki.com put on over a year ago. He set up a realistic looking auto-review website and wrote about this prototype Honda (with fake dyno charts and everything - basically increased engine size by 50% with a 3.0 V6 and raised power and torque by the same ratio). Everyone went crazy for a few days until he admitted what he had done and said that he wanted to let Honda know what they SHOULD be building, and hoped to stir interest/controversy with his phony website after going through the official channels failed to get Hondas interest.

 

not sure its true or not though, it says the type-R will be using a line-6 vtec 3.0 engine.

Ok, so it is a Hoax. But I still wonder why Honda wouldn't make a Type R version of the S2000.

I bet they would make a Passport Type R, Element Type R, and Odessey Type R before coming up with the S2K Type R. Maybe that makes more sense for the Honda product designers :o
