New tires installed then CEL error P0455
New tires installed then CEL error P0455
I just had new front tires installed yesterday and have driven the car about 20 miles since, getting about 3/4 tank of gas within a few miles of picking it up at the shop.
Since the fill up it has been parked/started 4 times. On the fourth start the CEL comes on with the code P0455: Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak).
I've done some research and found the only fix I'll likely be able to perform is making sure the gas cap is tight. My question is, if I'm unable to clear and prevent the code from reappearing, could the mechanics during the tire installation possibly have caused it? If so, where could I or a shop find any damage. Or should I just take it to the dealer and take another repair bill, as the tire shop will likely deny they had anything to do with it.
thanks

And if it's somehow not that... It's still incredibly unlikely that the tire shop caused the issue.
