Hello, i`ve tried searching up i end up getting threads about sounds at idle or the cat.

I have a 2005 manual, 115,000km on body, new engine in April 2012(along with aftermarket engine mounts, new clutch, oil pipe, upgraded starter).

I had been experiencing this sound before the new engine, thinking it`d go away, but it didn`t.

At around 3000rpm, between 2800-3100, its a very brief period and it has to be under slightly heavier then normal load, light driving(like a granny) won`t make the sound. expecially in 2nd and 3rd gear. It sounds like a Psssst, very quick and comes from the center console area, at first i thought my vents were turning on for a split second but i tried putting my hand over them and didn`t feel any larger then normal amount of air come through. Like i said, new engine and still makes the sound. Its not a rattle, or coins in a can, it sounds like a snake is in my dash and at 3000rpm gets mad at me for a split second, lol!!
