Downside of Megellan Roadmate 700/Garmin 2620? Besides $$$

I'm looking into purchasing either the Garmin 2620 or the Magellan Roadmate 700... anyone have either of these, and can give me some info on what are the negatives besides the cost?

I have the 700 and have used it in my BMW and loved it. However, I moved to the RX-8 and, although it's not clear yet, it looks like it's messing up the tire presuure monitor. In such a small cab the only real place for the windshield mount is above the center of the console which is where the TPMS receiver sits.

I may have to find a permenant mounting place and use an external antenna. Has anyone permenantly mounted a Magellan 500/700 in an 8 and can give advise/pictures?
