If you can swing it, I'd go for the BHR Ignition kit, that way you won't have to worry about replacing coils ever again. You also gain a couple horses and the car seems to run a lot smoother. Definitely worth the money.

If not, just get the cheapest coils... you'll be replacing them again relatively soon anyways.

$40 is not even the cheapest.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...1817959438____

$29.95 each.

And that is for the EXACT same part number that you get if you walk up to a Mazda dealer's parts counter and ask for 4 ignition coils.

Why spend more?

They almost always have an additional online deal running. The "15% discount and free shipping on orders over $100" ended a short time ago. I know several people that got the whole deal (4 coils, 4 plugs, and 4 wires) for $182 shipped.

Do you use Genuine Mazda fluids?

Do you use Genuine Mazda battery?

Do you service your car 100% at Mazda dealer?

if you answer "NO" to ANY of the above, yes you can use aftermarket coils.

if u buy from Advance Auto, use ES123 (don't have any other good coupons right now) at check out, you will save 30 bux of 100 bux or more.

or

if you are buying 150 bux worth of stuff or more (like extra coolant, bulbs, etc) , use coupon code VISA. 50 bux off 150.

offer Excludes ANY Engine oil. you can add GEAR oil to the deal tho

to get a few bux extra rebate, sign up to fatwallet and use their link to shop.

you will get lifetime warranty on coils, yes Coils for the LIFE OF YOUR CAR.

at less than 100 bux, why not ?

Hey guys,
I went ahead and ordered the Intermotor coils form AAP based on this thread and a couple others. I guess I was under the impression they would have Mazda's part number stamped on them, but there is nothing printed or stamped on them, and the box says they were made in Poland.
Should these be just as good to use?
Thanks

If it's this one from my link,

Then yes, it's the same exact coil as OEM.

Thanks RIWWP. It's the same one you linked to.
The "made in Poland" threw me off. I was expecting to see made in Japan.
It's looking to be a nice night here. I will be installing them after I get off work!

Parts like these are usually used across various cars. I don't know what other car this coil might fit, but only when they go through Mazda's supply chain would they be reasonably stamped with Mazda's part number. Usually factories can't sell a vehicles parts outside of the contracted supply chain for the first ~3-6 years (varies based on contract terms), but once past that, the factory usually starts supplying wear items directly to other parts suppliers, and chopping out the OEM middle-man results in quite a bit of cost savings.
