My wife hated the RX-8
In the year of me searching for an RX-8, my wife was 100% against me getting this car. Citing how I didn't need a sports car, she would send me CL links to cars such as the Altima. She thought the 8 looked stupid and didn't understand the whole niche aspect of this car (why they aren't popular)...
Until we test drove this one.
As soon as she saw it in person, she tells me "You gotta get this car, it's beautiful!"
And then we drove it, and she was as hooked as I'd hoped. When she first got behind the wheel and drove it herself, she asked things like "how do you NOT drive this car fast?" and "Why don't more cars have rotary engines?"
My wife knows close to nothing about cars. But you don't need to be a gearhead to see how amazing this ride is... You just need to give it a chance.

my wife was fine with it, but didn't really "get it" until i had it for about 7 months. She finally put her foot in it on an on ramp and ran it all the way to red line for the first 3 gears. When she heard my HKS pop between shifts, she started to grin. That's when i knew she got it.
Same reaction I've gotten from every single one of the people I've let drive mine ~ "wow". It's really a shame that most Mazda dealers don't offer any for test drives anymore. I once ferried a guy to the Nissan dealer in mine, and had the entire sales staff there come out to give my 8 the once-over.

My wife doesn't like the RX-8. She only drives it when she has to (for instance, if her car is in the shop or something like that).
Her daily driver is a minivan. Figures...

My girlfriend isn't into cars at all, heck she doesn't even have a drivers licence and she's 37.
She calls it the "angry" car... I guess it's the sound it makes when revving it past 6k. She much prefers our Jeep Liberty - go figure!

lol @ Z4... dude NO ****!
And yea, my girlfriend hates my car. She hates the way it drives, she hates the way it feels, she hates the seats, she hates the rotary because she is afraid im gonna have a problem with it.
Now only if she could drive stick she would probably change her mind. And im not about to teach her in my car. She's one of those "ditsy" drivers. Scares the hell out of me.
But in her defense, her height causes her head to literally always hit the metal rotary symbol thingy in the back of the seat. When I "punch the throttle" she tends to slam her head into it. That and probably the way i drive it. She doesnt like me taking on ramps at 70.
Pshh.... women.

Well done by waiting to come with the car first.I thought this was going to be a wife bashing thread from the title. Nice surprise that she likes it..

, that's pretty funny that you get away with doing that and she doesn't give you the bash for doing that to her
My wife loves that I got an RX8 but is scared to drive it incase she'll scrape the rims or the car or something. Fine by me, its not like I like driving her Outlander around so all good if we stick to our own cars :D
My wife still won't drive mine....she flat out refuses. She also complains that is it too low. stock shocks on MS springs....
Actually, she drove it once. Put the car in N in and smashed down the gas.....Very lucky cause she would have gone into a closed garage door.
