Angry clutch, slave cylinder or bracket recall??

so here's what my car is doing...

1. clutch petal stays halfway down once pressed unless i pull it up with my foot. once pulled up will stay that way until i press it down and it will remain down once again

2. a squeaking noise when i press down the clutch

3. hard time getting into first gear...sometimes will grind

4. cant go into reverse, 1st gear hard to get into, 2nd a little easier, 3rd and 4th gear easy and 5th and 6th gear almost impossible to get into

5. when the car it turned off and the clutch is pressed there is NO PROBLEM getting into gear...wierddd. sometimes when im stopped at a light and can't get it into first gear i have to turn it off, put in gear, and then turn it back on

i have asked a few people and they said that it was the clutch slave cylinder but then reading some of the forums it may be the recall on the clutch bracket?

the fluid is fine and doesn't seem to be leaking...so i don't think that it is the master cylinder

someone please help me and tell me what u think is wrong!!

I vote bracket. Does the clutch pedal move side to side easily?

I took my 8 into the dealer because my clutch pedal was making the squeaking noise when pressed, it wasn't going up and down smoothly, and I was having trouble getting into first gear (grinding). I told them that I suspected it had something to do with the clutch pedal assembly and asked them to check it for the recall to see if I could get it replaced. They looked at it, and told me the pedal assembly was fine, and they suspected my clutch was going bad, and I should get it replaced, but their clutch guy wasn't in so they hadn't even looked at it. They also told me that it wasn't a recall, but a "extension of warranty" I still think it's a problem with my clutch pedal assembly. I was thinking about getting a new clutch setup anyways, so when I eventually get that put on, I'll see if it fixes the problem or not.

Alright, I checked my pedal assembly and it was fine, then I tried spraying the springs with silicone based lubricant, that didn't really help, the clutch felt a tiny bit smoother, but there was still major squeaking. Just lubed the master cylinder about a week ago, and at first it seemed basically the same, still squeaked and the pedal still felt kinda rough. The next day I took it out for a drive and everything was perfect! nice smooth clutch, with no squeak.

First get down under the dashboard and look to make sure your pedal assembly isn't starting to crack, if the assembly is fine, it's most likely the master cylinder. If you take it in to mazda during a routine oil change or something like that and ask them to lube the clutch master cylinder while theyre working on it, they might even do it for free (it's only about a 2 minute job)

He's correct in saying it is an "extension of warranty".
As sad as it is this did not turn into a full fledged recall but a SSP, which means they will fix it as it occurs over the course of the extension.

Alright, I have a new update to add, The squeaking is back. I had the car in a garage, I know and trust the owner, and he knows his stuff. He was helping me put on my new stances and replace the oil cooler lines with the racing beat lines. While I was there, I had him listen to the sound and also let him drive the car, he said it was the clutch bearing. I guess the key is to notice if it happens only on the way up or down, or if it happens both ways. Mine only squeaks when pushing the pedal down.
