Ram Air Intake

I am trying to find the advantages of all the intakes rushing to the market, but from some recent posts, it is starting to look like the stock intake is more than enough. The Speed Source Team even used the stock intake box. Some posts say that the extra air causes turbulence and adversely affects the MAF (someone may need to explain this to me). Others say that the second intake port does not open up until 3750 RPM which will bounce the extra air out supposingly. This seems to leave cold-air and NoS as the only solutions to getting more air into the engine compartment.

So do I even bother with intake? Any comments?

I tend to agree with you. I opted for the Green Performance Drop in while I wait to see whats next. Green is working with Mazda Speed on a complete intake. From what I have seen (the post)...IF I were to get one now it would be a RE intake. I'm going to wait to see what Mazda Speed and Green Performance come out with and then make a decision.
