Starting issue....

I have a 04 6sp 93000 miles.. Its been having trouble starting hot, but here recently it wont start at all hot. I know that that is a sign of compression loss, but thats the only sign of it I have. It feels more powerful than it ever has, I get decent gas mileage.

Well it wouldn't start earlier so I hooked some jumper cables up to it and it started right up.

Any ideas? I cant even drive it because I cant get gas without having to wait up to 30 minutes

Your battery could be crap or you could have the crappy starter that was supposed to be replaced. If you search for the upgraded starter, you should find all the information about that.

Check your gas filter, it might be clogged.

Was the engine hot when you used the jumper cables?

I think you should start by throughly checking your electrical system. Make sure the battery has enough capacity (CCA) and load tests ok; also make sure all the connections are clean and tight. Once that's been taken care of, check the part # of your starter if you are still having "hot start" problems.

I'm having the same problem right now on hot-starts with my BHR kit. Did you find out if the new starter you bought was in fact the upgraded one (N3H1 A, N3H1Z) ?

Yes the new one is the upgraded n3z1. Unfortunately, I only got to experience the starting goodness for a day. The main power wire stud on the starter broke off. So now Im lookin for another one....
