Installed new battery, cranks but won't start.

My 04 Mazda has been garaged all winter. It wouldn't start today so I bought a new battery since the old one was the original. All connections are clean and correct. Now the engine cranks over great but will not start. Any suggestions on where to start?

I tried to start it this morning then I went to work. I came home this evening and the same thing. Should I remove the spark plugs and crank it over?

Ok, now I'm baffled. I took out the old spark plugs and cranked it over a few times without fuel to clean it out. I put brand new plugs in and it still won't fire.

GOT IT! I pulled the plugs again to turn it over. This time I held the accelerator to the floor when I cranked it over, and over, and over. I put the plugs back in and did the same procedure. Next I let the fuel pump do it's normal thing and it the engine sputtered some life. After going back and forth a few times it finally blew the white smoke of victory. I'm lettting it idle now and i'm getting ready to blow it out a little on the road. Thanks forum!
