my 2004 rx8 6m/t came with RMagic exhaust system and RMagic high flow catalytic converter.

Yesterday after i run it a little hard for a few minutes i saw that the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter was glowing red.

is that a symtom of a bad CAT?

Are you sure it was not the cat glowing? I thought if the cat was bad then that was that part that got super hot?

 

thats exactly why i'm a little bit confuse here. the actual CAT is not getting red, but about 10 inch exhaust pipe right after the CAT.

 

If the cat ain't red don't worry about it...also because the rotary motor design it runs hotter temps and will make your **** hot and read my OBX GLOWS IN THE DARK when I get on it haha everyone talks about how big of a fireball I shoot out and how bright it gets

 

Check your catalytic converter.

 

check the cat, ignore the idiots who said its not the cat, people are so stupid to think that its always the front part of the cat fails first,.
