Greddy turbo kit for S2 possibility?

I sent Greddy an email inquiring about any possible plans and got this as a response:

---------------
Currently there are not immediate plans to make a update or new turbo kit for the newer 09+ RX8s, however if you have any more info (like a forum link) with more RX8 owners interested in a revised GReddy turbo kit, we would love to talk a look at it to see what the possibilities are.
---------------

Can we get a list going of everyone interested? It seems like we would have a lot of people. Once and if we get enough posts, I'll forward the thread link to them.

Thats the kicker right there ...

Looks like spray is the only way to go with the S2 until a ecu tuner is developed.

Would something like their e-manage system be capable of it?

Damn. Let's pretend funds were not a problem. Is there a reliable way of tuning a series II?

p.s you just reminded me I need to catch up on cyanide and happiness

If GReddy did take the plunge into a system for the '90+ (hightly unlikely), they would use the e-Manage for sure.
It would work the same for the new models as it did for the old - which is to say just fine, as long as you stay with the kit as shipped and 6 PSI.

For my tastes a small boost of 6psi would be perfect. From tracking the R3, I find it needs just a little more acceleration to balance out the excellent handling.

Agreed. The car only needs 50 to 60 more bhp to be perfect.

I would be very interested in this kit, but not immediately. As long as I have a warranty and my only other vehical is nearing the end of it's reliable life, I'm not gonna do anything to my car that would void my warranty. In a few years, though, I'm in. They said no immediate plans, but hopefully they have eventual plans. I'm no market expert but they would probobly get better sales after some S2's run out of warranty anyway.

I know this is about the greddy turbo kit, but if Greddy is watching, maybe they could just come out with ANY way of tuning the S2, and they would have a monopoly on that product. The Esmeril guy said their turbo kit bolts right up to a S2 (just with no way to tune it), so Greddy may not even have to engineer a new turbo kit, just figure out the tuning problem and package that with the existing kit. Even apart from the turbo, the tuning stuff would be desired by all of the somewhat few people out there with a newer Rx8 they are looking to tune. Still probobly not enough to make a profit just yet, but it sure would be nice.

and when are we gonna hear this story?

i doubt they will make anything for the s2 they were interested in making an exhaust for the 09 they made a prototype on a local members car but decided to not go into production cause there was no horsepower gains, and when we were talking to their rep they really were not looking into forced induction for the series 2 because of all the trouble they ended up having with thier series 1 and mazda's reflashes
