Recently got my 04 Base Manual 6speed Rx8 and I was wondering if my Rx8 trim should have the dual illumination dashboard colors?I can only "dim" the intensity of the white font even with the headlights on I can´t get it to work.


Is it only a Touring,GT feature or all rexies have it?If so,what could of went wrong with the last owner of the car that this doesn´t work? :/

 

Theres a **** next to the DSC controls on the left side of the wheel. Scroll it until you hear a click and when you turn on your lights, it would be red.

 

Been there done that :/
It just "clicks" and nothing changes,but if I scroll it down it just dims the white fonts and the whole stereo/ac console illumination.

if you have it all the way up, the white back light will be on full no matter if your head lights are on or off
if you have it just before the click, the back light should be still on full when head light is off but dims when head light is on.

 

Yeah srry bout the misunderstanding but still,with headlights on,just white fonts before the "click", and if I keep rolling it downwards it just dims the white font and the center consoles illumination.

I´m having a feeling it might be broke?Replacement?Inb4 checking fuses cuz all of em are working and none of em are blown.

Hating the fact my 8 isn´t that complete of an 8!White fonts messes big time with my sight during the night

 

Sounds like a bad switch.

 

should switch to red with the headlights on. Somethings up, take it to a dealer, pay the diagnostic, and have them tell you the problem. Then take it from there..

Fixeeed! Broken/bad switch! Finally my eyes can rest while I´m having fun at night...:D thx to all who answered,now looking forward to buy a 6 disc radio,single disc SUCKS big time with bumpy and skipping play. -.-

 

if your going to spend that kind of money get a double din radio that does navigation. like kenwood excelon or something. they have great faceplates out that can make it look OEM.

 

6 disc? wait...people still use discs to hold their music?

I always thought multi-disc changers were something that sounds better in theory than they work in practical use.

I'd highly recommend a dvd/nav deck as well, although by the time you buy the deck and the metra kit you're into it for about 600 to a grand.
