My new RX8, Engine granular or just me?
Im now the proud owner of an 05 blue rx8 (Yay!) It has 68k but spposedly a brand new engine.
I notice if I give it the gas hard it seems almost like a two stroke engine or sounds like some ricer civic with a pipe on it. It's almost granular feeling...
So Im just wondering, is this typical of all rx8's? or is it not a good sign?

He's probably talking about the marbly raspy sound/feel from the engine (not out back from the exhaust) at low rpm. But things sound and feel smooth and solid as you pull up into higher rpm. Way way back on this forum in 2003 and 2004, lots of owners were wondering if it was detonation or something. The conclusion is it's completely normal.

Kind of, Its like when it is at low rpm and you push down a fair ammount on the pedal to get it to accelerate.....just doesnt feel right....

It's not about auto versus manual. What the OP is talking about is exactly what I'm talking about. At low rpm, acceleration just doesn't quite feel right or solid or smooth or whatever. What he called it "granular", I called "marbly." Others have described it as a "ping." It's completely normal.
