What do you think about this? Tires with built-in camber, which supposedly improves everything (ride, wear, noise, performance, efficiency). Sound interesting and Jay Leno's race driver guy really likes them, but I'd like to see an independent comparison test.

Cool idea...I guess they are selling the technology to any tire company that is intereted? They should have taken the testing to some track, who care about the ride so much on rough roads. www.cambertire is scary badly (not) done.

 

yeah i googled it and its like under construction and what not

 

seems like it would just cord the outside edge faster as weight transfers to the outside edge during cornering. That's the whole point of negative camber: Maximize the contact patch as the weight transfers outward. Unless your car is super stiff and has super stiff sways, I would think the outside edge would just get overloaded. I am however not a tire tech or an engineer by any means.

I'd like to see some track results.

 

well, the inside part won't wear down as much as with negative camber on regular tires.

Hopefully someone will do a track test tire comparison so we can see how they wear down.

 

you need to readjust the camber for this tire tho

its like different profiles tires for bikes, some are round, some are close to triangular.
