So swapping out my rotors and pads for some EBCs. Got everything off, swapped the parts out and all I have to do now is put the calipers back on and bolt those in. The only trick is we can not get the pistons to go in far enough. They're still raised about 1/3 of an inch and have at least 1/8-1/4 of an inch before they think about clearing the pads. A giant c-clamp that has been used on other sets of brakes won't make the piston move at all. Is there some trick to it?

 

They need to be rotated with a special tool...and pushed in at the same time...do a search..there are a few threads with the tool pictures...

You can borrow the tool at some auto parts places

 

alright, i'll attempt it thanks. gotta love it when even the dealership's techs don't know that because I just got off the phone with them and he's like "no they're just normal pistons"

 

You can use a set of needle nosed pliers too....just be careful you don't rip the dust boot on the caliper Push and turn till they are all the way down...and turn without going in any farther...
