The Texas 8 Prepare thread

So I've been reading the Official Texas 8 State Meet thread and I've read about people installing some mods or doing car maintenance and I'm curious what everyone is doing to prepare for the State Meet.

I'm going all out, for the Texas 8 I sold my auto 8 and I'm buying a WB 6MT GT with some minor mods already on it.

Once I get it I plan to install my mods at had on my auto 8, which are: Tein S. Tech springs, Koni Yellow shocks, Mazdaspeed F/R Strut bars, Seibon CF TS Hood etc. I'm sure there's more so I'll add to this when I remember

what's everyone else doing?

I'll be getting some new MT90 and diff fluid. Perhaps do a coolant flush.

Redline or Royal Purple, I'll probably do this as well along with an oil change

So, I'm still considering the mazdaspeed coils & struts, but was wondering if any of y'all have ever had any issues with having your 8 out of factory spec when it comes to Mazdas extended warranty. TownNorth service says "just say no" cuz it will void my ex. warranty... but if I'm buying the stuff from a mazda dealership that doesn't seem to make much sense.... Anyhow.. thoughts guys/gals?

It is a lot of stuff but could be done in a week once the work order is ready, the engine should take around 2 days, i already got some shocks I wanna put on from tbk, I have coils and wires sitting around waiting to be put on, and Im gonna do a TSB to check the compression on my engine which gets you free plugs.... As long as work isn't too busy, I'll pull my car onto one of the lifts and work on it between jobs...

Well I wouldn't be surprised if they voided everything for something as small as having those clear corners on....so you'd better watch out! Seriously though, if you buy all that stuff just keep all your old stuff too. JIC you need to take it in you can swap parts back.

I seriously doubt they would void anything, Ive taken my car to **** Hiley Mazda and they have said literally nothing to me... so shocks and springs you will be fine... it has nothing to do with the engine and since they are actual Mazda you will be fine... Ive read tons of stories where people have seen a AEM CAI and the dealer doesnt car, with what ive heard about Town North they shouldnt care.... Really Joe I believe your fine...

Crap, Im going to have to miss that meet.....too bad for me stuck in Iraq. good thing is alot of 8 owners will have a prime opportunity to show & tell their ride... my misfortune should be anothers grand op. to come together in what will be a gathering of the masses. take some pics so I can show my bro's how true 8 owners do it.....later all...

I will be doing a remedy water pump, thermastat, Bhr ignition, midpipe, throwout bearing since my new spec one went bad after 2 weeks, royal purple oil change and new summer tires. I think I want to go 255/35 all the way around, maybe eagle f1's. Any suggestions for brand would be good. I've been running all seasons, but I want to go summer since I'm buying a Benz for a dd. Which means I get to rebuild it over next winter. I think I see a Bridgeport in the future.

Got the new water pump in and coolant flushed. All that's left now is new gear oils and touching up the caliper paint.
