11" wide fitment?

I am looking into getting a 19X11 Wheel so I can install some 295-305 rubber in the back to try and get the ponies on the ground

I currently have a 19X10 with 275-35-19 and a 43mm offset which fits great and if I get the 19X11 with a 55mm offset it will sit at exactly the same spot on the outside so it should not rub...my question is towards the inside. I know I got an inch of clearance at least with the 10"wide 275 setup but I wanted to come here and ask if anyone had actual experience putting 11"-295-305 rubber in the back of their 8.

Thanks.

Chris

I think 285 is the widest I recall someone running and that was on 10" or 10.5".

It was on a 10.5" rim...I remember...and they ran it up front also because it was for autocross...I think it might have been TeamRX8 but I am not sure and I cannot find the thread through the search function.

I know that Rgonza has or had 305 R888's on his car, he had his rims widened to 10.5 from 9.5 but he is in PR and his offset is not clear because he machined some from the back side of the wheels and then made them wider so we don't know where it sits precisely...he doesn't have widebody so they fit in the stock fender...he might have used a mallet to make space though...hehe

^ That's for tire fitment. Use this tool for wheel fitment:

A 43mm for 11" would probably be your best fitment. Youll have to roll the fenders (if they arent already)

Really? 43mm? hmmm...I always though mine was tight now as it is with a 43mm offset on a 10" wide rim.

I was thinking about this:

It keeps the outside where my current one is and just puts the extra inch inwards....hmm...

Thanks for that link btw...its great.

I suggest getting under the car and measuring how much room there actually is on your current setup between tire and suspension. Then, look at the numbers that website gives you (looks like 0.97 in. or 24.7mm) and see if it will fit. If not, lower the offset. You can always roll the fenders and pull a bit.

I also ran 18 x 10.5 +43 but with only 265/35-18 Yokohama Advan AD07 tires

the larger tire will require rolling the rear fender lip, an 11" wheel will only compound the problem as will a 305 tire

I'd try to stick to the 10.5" wheel and 295 tire, unless you don't mind flaring the bodywork

there's very little room left on the inside; suspension arms in the front at full lock and shock tower bulge in the rear coupled with camber gain during suspension roll/compression

19s will cause more issues still because the OD is too tall on larger widths, your program is uesless compared to dealing with the real parameter limitations of the bodywork

.

I see what you mean. Thanks for the input. I do not intend to install that wide in front, I only want 9" with a 255 in the front. I also do not mind pulling the fenders a bit if that is what it takes...its just that 600-700whp is hard to control and the extra rubber will help lots. I will take measurements of my car and post the findings for anyone that might be interested. I will also be in PR this weekend and will be looking at Rgonza's car which suposedly runs 305 rubber on 11-11.5" wide rears.

Team - Do you have a link to your 10.5" fitment thread? I couldn't find it...Thanks.

Panspeed sells flares that you might want to look into. Or make them yourself.

I just checked Japanparts and they are 10mm wider. I thought it was 20mm but that was for both fenders Anyway not sure they will be wide enough for you.

A pull of the stock fenders can give you the 10mm, unless you want pulled Panspeed fenders

i have the exact same spec as Team's. 18x10.5" +43 with 265/35/18 Kumho Ecsta XS tires. i've only lowered with Tein S-Tech springs on stock shocks. here's a pic of fitment.

Chris please post your measurements when you get them, I was also trying this but my measuring method was crappy at best, I got a few mm under 13" from the inside of the fender lip(rolled) to the outer most part of the springs, but like I said my method was not adequate.

Nuke, do you happen to know how much clearance is there from the tire to the springs?????

i'm not sure. i do know there is pretty much no room in the front. the rears are close but there is still room. i'm wishing i would have gone with 275 tires though.

I just went and looked at mine...there is about 1/2" clearance on the rears to the body where the shock tube comes down

And there is about 3/4" on the front.....between the rim edge and the shock body....depending on the tire though the limiting factor tends to be the wheel well on full lock

Same...SSR Comp 18X10.5 +43

I'm on coilovers lowered as much as the geometry allows without screwing things up too much

^ we're the only 2 dudes with this fitment.

idk why either. its aggressive but requires no modifications and absolutely no rubbing.

yeah, but nobody else makes this fitment?

they probably would not be as light though.
